This is a selfish, indulgent, and incomplete collection of memory.

this summer carries a strange weight.” follows the route I used to travel as a child with my mother every summer: from our home in Calgary, across the prairies to her childhood home in a small town called Minitonas. As years passed, grandchildren grew up, and my grandparents slowly succumbed to mental illness, these trips ceased and became a thing of memory. When my grandfather passed in 2018 and I found myself back in Minitonas after a decade, the idea of revisiting these places - these memories - with a camera was born. In 2021, after the passing of my grandmother, that idea was realized. A portion is presented here.
